Cord Blood Collection

This website includes information and statements prepared by the pre-appointment Directors and Management of the Company and may be subject to change. The JPLs accept no responsibility for any errors, omissions, or misrepresentations contained on this website and make no assertions about the safety or effectiveness of any of the procedures described herein.

The collection of umbilical cord blood takes place in hospitals immediately after the babies are born and is conducted by qualified doctors or trained midwife nurses. Once safely stored into the special kits provided, the collected samples are picked up and delivered to our laboratories with special courier vehicles within 24 hours. Upon arrival of the collected units to our storage facilities, our staffs will examine the cord blood carefully to determine whether they meet the standards of cryopreservation, including visual checking, weighing, measuring temperature upon arrival, examining hospital collection records of the delivered cord blood and verifying maternal blood sample and client information, etc. Customer profiles are established thereafter.

After all client information is confirmed and registered, a specific barcode will be assigned to the collected cord blood. The assigned barcode is the only life-long identification for each individual unit of cord blood within the storage facilities.
